Sarah Mitchell joined Justice Law Firm in 2010 after a distinguished early career at one of Manhattan’s top criminal defense boutiques. As a Senior Partner, she leads the firm’s criminal defense and family law practice groups, bringing intensity, precision, and deep empathy to every matter she handles.

Sarah’s criminal defense practice spans the full spectrum of New York criminal law — from DUI and drug offenses to complex white-collar fraud investigations. She is known for her thorough pre-trial preparation, her ability to connect with juries, and her relentless pursuit of the best possible outcome for each client. Over her career, she has secured acquittals, dismissals, and favorable plea agreements in hundreds of cases.

In the family law arena, Sarah is equally formidable. She has guided hundreds of clients through emotionally difficult divorces, custody disputes, and domestic violence cases with a combination of strategic skill and genuine compassion. She understands that family law decisions have lasting impacts on children and families, and she brings that awareness to every negotiation and courtroom appearance.

Sarah is a frequent lecturer at continuing legal education programs on topics including criminal procedure, family court practice, and attorney wellness. She mentors young women entering the legal profession and serves on the board of a nonprofit providing legal services to survivors of domestic violence.

Outside the office, Sarah is an avid runner who has completed the New York City Marathon three times. She lives in Brooklyn with her husband and daughter.
